Excessive sweating, or hyperhidrosis, under the arms can cause social embarrassment and practical difficulties such as choosing appropriate clothing or requiring frequent changes of clothes.
Botulinum toxin injections (Botox) to the sweat gland areas can block most activity in these glands resulting in little or no sweating. It can take up to two weeks for the treatment to have full effect. With full dose treatment, this beneficial effect can last for 6 months before the glands start returning to normal function.
The treatment can be carried out in the consulting room and you can return to your normal activities immediately.
